Seat posts record results

Seat generated a record profit of 226 million euros in the first quarter. It was 57 percent higher than in the same period last year. At 3.8 billion euros (up 6.8 percent), sales also reached a new high for a first quarter. Worldwide deliveries increased by over ten percent to 138,600 vehicles, while the market share in Western Europe rose from 3.5 percent to 3.8 percent.

The Cupra continued to make a significant contribution to this success. Seat's sports brand increased its sales to 56,600 vehicles in the first three months of the year. This is 10,000 cars (+21.4 %) more than in the same period last year. In March, Cupra recorded its best month ever with 23,800 deliveries. The Formentor remains the most popular model, while sales of the Cupra Leon more than doubled. Seat itself increased its sales by 4.3 percent to 81,900 vehicles.

In Germany, registrations of the core brand rose by 24.1 percent to 15,300 vehicles between January and March, while Cupra sales increased by 42.2 percent to 18,900 deliveries. (aum)
