VW ID 3 gets further innovations
Following the facelift a year ago, the VW ID 3 is now getting another extensive update. The focus is on new software and infotainment functions as well as a modified operating concept. With the improved drive, the output of the initially available ID 3 Pro S increases to 170 kW (231 PS). Further variants will be available to order shortly.
The infotainment system has an enlarged 12.9-inch touchscreen, and the gear lever is no longer attached directly to the cockpit, but is designed as a steering column. Below the infotainment display are the now illuminated and more ergonomically designed touch sliders for controlling the interior temperature and volume. The Ida voice assistant has been expanded to include chat GPT in the background. The augmented reality head-up display has also been further developed, while the wellness app and the optional premium sound system from Harman Kardon have been redesigned.
Systems such as the enhanced "Travel Assist" with swarm data usage, which enables assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance across the entire speed range as well as assisted lane changes on the highway, are available as an option. Park Assist Plus and the memory function for the system (automatic execution of a saved parking maneuver over a distance of up to 50 meters) are also available as optional extras. Park Assist Plus is enhanced by a remote function for remote-controlled parking via smartphone app. Another new feature in the series is the exit warning system, which warns of vehicles approaching from behind when the doors are opened.
