Lotus goes from strength to strength

No sooner has Lotus initiated its own drive turnaround with the Eletre electric SUV than the next future model is presented. The Emeya presented yesterday in New York is a four-door GT in the hyper class. Lotus announces an output of up to 675 kW (905 hp) and a torque of 985 Newton meters. The Lotus Emeya is said to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just under 2.8 seconds. The company puts the pull-through between 80 km/h and 120 km/h at under two seconds. Top speed is 256 km/h. Production is scheduled to start as early as next year.

An active grille reduces drag when closed and cools the battery and brakes when open. Other features of the Emeya include an active rear spoiler, electronically controlled air suspension, active driving noise cancellation and a 55-inch augmented reality head-up display. Thanks to a dual-motor concept, the hypercar sedan has all-wheel drive and intelligent torque distribution. The battery is said to have a capacity of 102 kilowatt hours. Lotus is still silent on the possible range of the Emeya. (aum)
