Moto E: The Ducati V21L covered over 38,000 kilometers

Formula E is now well established. With the Moto E World Championship, electric mobility has also made a big impact in motorcycle racing this year. In the racing series with the Ducati V21L, eight different riders took victories in this year's debut season in the 16 races and seven of nine teams were represented on the podium at least once. In the end, Mattia Casadei became the first Moto-E World Champion. It remained exciting right to the end, with four riders having had a chance of winning the title until before the finale.

The Ducati V21L is a prototype, the development of which will later result in a production machine. So far, 18 motorcycles have been built for the world championship and five replacement machines. The engine has an output of 110 kW (150 hp) and develops a torque of 140 Newton meters.

The electric racing bikes covered a total of 471 laps and 38,500 kilometers in their first season. 1080 charges were made, and the machines themselves recovered 1.4 megawatt hours of energy during braking. The highest speed reached was 282 km/h and was achieved at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. The average acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h was two and a half seconds. (aum)
