In the presence of Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, Ford celebrated the start of production of the Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier at the Craiova plant.

Ford has started building the new Transit and Tourneo models of the compact Courier series at its Craiova plant in Romania. Tourneo models of the compact Courier series. The start of production was also attended by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu. For the first time, the Courier is being manufactured at the same site where the Puma rolls off the production line. The predecessor model came from the Turkish plant in Yeniköy. The relocation is expected to increase annual capacity from 250,000 to 272,000 vehicles. The Ford Otosan joint venture, which has been building Transit and Tourneo models in Turkey for almost ten years, is still responsible for production.
The Ford Tourneo Courier passenger car variant is built with gasoline engines, while the Transit van is also built with diesel engines. From next year, both will also be offered as electric versions. (aum)
