EICMA 2023: Royal Enfield shows the Himalayan 450

Royal Enfield describes itself as the fastest growing motorcycle brand and the world market leader in the 250 to 750 cubic centimeter displacement range. The brand with British roots has also become increasingly established in Germany in recent years. At the EICMA in Milan (-12.11.2023), the Himalayan 50 will celebrate its premiere with the new water-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 40 hp (29 kW) at 8000 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 40 Newton meters at 5500 rpm. A large part of this is already available from 3000 rpm. It is the first liquid-cooled engine from the Indians.

The Enduro has a much more modern design than the well-known Himalayan 400, but also features the typical tank protection bars, which also serve as bag holders. At the front, the new Enfield rolls on a 21-inch wheel, while a 17-inch rim is used at the rear. The suspension travel is 20 centimetres on both sides, the weight ready to ride is 196 kilograms. The standard seat height is specified as 82.5 centimetres, the tank holds 17 liters. (aum)
