Jeep Avenger with image hybrid drive
The small Avenger has turned out to be the best-selling Jeep model in Germany this year. After electric and combustion engines, the Stellantis brand is now also launching a mild hybrid version. The Avenger e-Hybrid combines the 100 hp (74 kW) 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with a 21 kW electric motor integrated into the automatic 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 48-volt battery. A belt starter generator ensures a seamless transition between the combustion engine and electric motor.
Purely electric driving is only possible at walking speeds below 30 km/h or in traffic jams and when parking. However, the hybrid system ensures energy recovery when braking and the additional 55 Nm of torque from the electric motor ensures faster acceleration and accelerator pedal response. The Avenger e-Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in eleven seconds.
The new Avenger version can also be ordered with a new sunroof and electrically adjustable leather driver's seat with massage function. In the interior, the driver can choose between a 7-inch or 10.25-inch instrument cluster. The 6-speed DCT transmission can also be shifted manually via paddles on the steering wheel. In addition, there are two new Connected Services packages with a range of networked services, including over-the-air map updates, current weather data and the location of petrol stations with fuel prices and available parking spaces at the destination.
The Avenger e-Hybrid is expected to be available to order in all European markets from the end of November. (aum)
