Porsche has invested around 250 million euros in the conversion and expansion of its main plant in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. In future, the traditional assembly line for the two-door sports cars will also produce the electric 718 in addition to the models with boxer doors. Numerous production facilities will be renewed for this purpose. As with Taycan production, the latest generation of driverless transport systems will now also be used for the two-door models. This is intended to increase capacity and flexibility in production.
Production has also been expanded to include further quality test benches in vehicle assembly, additional logistics space and a new high-bay warehouse. Furthermore, the assembly of the electric drive for the future electric Macan will be integrated into the existing engine plant. The new generation of the SUV will be built in Leipzig from next year.
