Beta Alp 4.0 from scratch

After a break of several years, Beta is once again launching an Alp 4.0, which has been redesigned from the ground up. Instead of a Suzuki engine, it is powered by a new water-cooled 350 cubic single-cylinder engine with 35 hp (26 kW) peak power at 9500 rpm. It was specially developed together with Tayo, the manufacturer of the Zontes brand models sold by Beta. Over 130 km/h should be possible in sixth gear.

For the first time, the Italian trials bike brand is offering its enduro in two versions. As the Alp 4.0, with its 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear, it is committed to the tradition of its predecessor. However, if you spend most of your time on the road anyway and still want to keep the option of a short detour into the countryside open, the Alp X is more recommended. At 855 millimetres, it has a slightly lower seat height, a slightly different design and 19 or 17-inch wheels with semi-off-road tires.

Both models have spoke rims, an eleven-liter tank and an LCD display including gear indicator. They weigh around 150 kilograms. The 4.0 and X should differ slightly in the fine-tuning of the engine due to the slightly different orientation. The ABS from Bosch can be switched off in the off-road mapping.

Beta is asking the same price for both versions: 5130 euros. They are due to go on sale next month. (aum)
