The first electric estate car from Germany

Despite the SUV wave, estate cars are still among the most popular models in Germany. So far, however, electrification has bypassed these vehicles, with one exception. The Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric is now the first electric German "estate car" to be launched on the market. It is powered by a 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor that is supplied with energy by a 54 kWh battery, which translates into a range of 413 kilometers according to the WLTP measurement method.

With a weight of 1760 kilograms, the family friend is one of the lightweights among e-mobiles. To reduce the weight, the tailgate was made of plastic, among other things. Its family-friendliness is also reflected in the luggage compartment, which has a capacity of 516 to 1553 liters, which is just as sufficient for a vacation as it is for a small move in between. The electric Astra Sports Tourer was developed in Rüsselsheim and is also produced at the main plant,

The price list for the Astra Sports Tourer Electric, which is already well equipped in the basic version, starts at 43,490 euros, which is reduced to 36,312 euros after deduction of the state subsidy if the Astra is registered by December 31. Which is quite possible: the model is already in dealerships, so customers can still benefit from the full subsidy. (aum)
