Following the battery-electric 600e, Fiat is now also offering a hybrid version in its new compact model range. The Fiat 600 Hybrid is now available to order and combines a 100 hp (74 kW) 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a 21 kW electric motor (29 hp). Under certain circumstances, such as in stop-and-go traffic, at very low speeds and when parking, the Fiat 600 Hybrid can also manage without the petrol engine. Fuel savings of up to 15 percent are said to be possible thanks to the electric assistance. Standard consumption is 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers.
The basic version and the more highly equipped Fiat 600 Hybrid La Prima are available at the market launch. Prices start at 24,990 euros. (aum)
