Abarth develops its most powerful series model to date

Abarth and the Group's Stellantis Motorsport division are developing a new all-electric model with an output of 170 kW (240 hp). It will be the brand's most powerful production vehicle to date. The basis is likely to be the Fiat 600, which produces 115 kW (156 hp). The vehicle is based on a performance version of the Group's current electric platform. One feature, for example, is a newly developed limited slip differential, which has been adapted to the specific requirements of an electric drivetrain and its driving dynamics. The braking system is equipped with larger discs to improve heat dissipation and reduce fading.

The tires make use of the Group's experience from Formula E. Thanks to the softer tread compound on the outside and in the middle, the special tires offer additional grip when cornering. At the same time, they are around a fifth quieter. The sports seats are also designed to meet comfort requirements and have upholstery consisting of four types of foam to provide individual support for different areas of the body.

Abarth launched its first electric car on the market last year with the 500e. The small two-door model has an output of 114 kW (155 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in seven seconds. The top speed is limited to 155 km/h. With the new five-door small car, the brand would also be targeting families for the first time. (aum)
