Preview: Two VWs, one Audi and one Kia

At the CMT in Stuttgart, the caravanning industry is starting the coming season with many new products and high hopes. With the Tourer, LMC is rediscovering the almost extinct motorhome design of the alcove vehicle. And VW is finally showing the T7 as a California, albeit still declared as a study.

Speaking of VW: since the blissful GTI days, they have been considered the measure of all things in terms of dynamics and suitability for everyday use, and not just by younger car fans: Hot Hatches, compact, sporty hatchbacks. In the era of SUVs, however, the days of this type of vehicle are numbered. Just like the Audi RS 3 Sportback, one of the spearheads of its kind with an output of 400 hp. We took a particularly eye-catching specimen - in the literal sense of the word - for a spin.

And while we're at it, another VW: the Golf is 50 years old. Not only for the brand, but also for our author Peter Schwerdtmann, it marked the beginning of a new chapter. A very personal memory.

The Kia Niro is available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric car. We asked the purely electric version to take part in a practical test. The Korean compact SUV offers plenty of space, has a 204 hp drive and is said to travel up to 460 kilometers on a single charge. Our author Guido Borck reports on whether this is true and what else we noticed about the Niro EV.

We also take a look at the motorcycle balance sheet for 2023 and answer questions about the most popular models and best-selling segments on the German market.

As usual, we also keep you up to date seven days a week on what's happening in the diverse world of mobility. (aum)
