Ford trims Transit Custom and Ranger for sport

Ford trims the Transit Custom and the Ranger for sport. In close cooperation with M-Sport in England, the special MS-RT edition with adapted chassis and special finish was created for both model series. The Ranger MS-RT is powered by the 3.0-liter turbodiesel with 240 hp (176 kW). With the Transit Custom MS-RT, customers have the choice between the 170 hp diesel (125 kW), the plug-in hybrid with 233 hp (171 kW) and the E-Transit Custom with 210 kW (285 hp), the most powerful MS-RT.

Special features include aerodynamic optimizations to the bodywork, which also include side skirts and a roof spoiler on the Transit Custom, which is also available as a double cab. The van rolls on 19-inch alloy wheels in slightly flared wheel arches and has a track that is over five centimetres wider. Inside, there is a sports steering wheel with blue 12 o'clock markings and seat covers made of vegan eco leatherette, some with a suede look.

The Ford Ranger MS-RT has a center of gravity that is four centimeters lower than the standard version. It also has side skirts and an integrated ducktail spoiler on the tailgate. The body is over eight centimeters wider due to the flared wheel arches for the 21-inch tires. The driver and front passenger sit in sports seats.

The designation MS-RT stands for M-Sport Road Technology. The vehicles will be available to order shortly and will be delivered from the middle of the year. Ford has not yet announced prices. (aum)
