New mild hybrid for Citroën C4 and C4 X

Citroën is adding a new mild-hybrid powertrain to the drive portfolio for the C4 and C4 X. The new hybrid ë-DSC6 consists of a 136 hp (100 kW) petrol engine combined with an electrified six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor. A 48-volt battery, which is charged while driving and is positioned under the left-hand front seat, provides additional torque at low engine speeds.

Under suitable conditions, the mild hybrid should be able to drive up to 50 percent purely electrically in city traffic, which could save a good liter of fuel (minus 20 percent) and correspondingly more than 25 g/km of CO2 compared to a conventional combustion engine. Prices for the new electrified variant start from 25,645 euros for the C4 Hybrid 136 Plus and 26,045 euros for the C4 X Hybrid 136 Plus. (aum)
