Hyundai Ioniq 5 gets larger battery

Hyundai has revised the Ioniq 5. As part of the facelift, the electric car has been given a larger battery. It delivers 84 kWh instead of 77.4 kWh. This increases the range to up to 570 kilometers. In addition, the preconditioning of the battery can also be switched on manually for faster charging. This function was previously activated by selecting a charging point in the navigation system.

In addition to modified bumpers and a modified trim strip, the Ioniq 5 has been given a five centimeter longer rear spoiler. Revised shock absorbers and reinforced body areas are intended to ensure a smoother driving experience. There is now a physical button in the upper part of the multifunction island in the center console, which can be used to operate frequently used functions such as the heated and ventilated seats in the front row, the heated steering wheel and the parking aid. The smartphone tray with wireless charging function has been positioned higher up.

In addition, the steering wheel has been redesigned and fitted with illuminated LED pixels as in the Ioniq 6. The infotainment and climate controls have been rearranged and connectivity and the parking assistant, which now has an emergency braking function, have been improved.

The N Line version will be added to the model range in the course of the year. (aum)
