The Allstreet joins the Sedan and Sportback

Audi is giving the A3 an upgrade and expanding the model series to include the Allstreet crossover with three centimetres more ground clearance and special design details. The Sportback and saloon have modified front and rear sections. The adaptive driving assistant now also includes an active lane changer at speeds above 90 km/h. For the first time, it is possible to select and switch between up to four different digital daytime running light signatures.

The standard equipment has been significantly extended: in addition to the three-spoke leather steering wheel with multifunction plus, the automatic climate control, the ambient lighting package and the front center armrest are also included as standard. There are also changes to the design of the gearshift and the air vents as well as new textile inlays and new lighting. The center console has also been redesigned and repainted. The virtual cockpit and an inductive charging option for smartphones are now also on board as standard. Popular third-party apps can be accessed directly via the touch display. The selected content is installed in the vehicle's infotainment system - independently of the smartphone. It is also possible to interact with the apps using voice commands via Alexa.

After purchasing the vehicle, up to five functions from the areas of infotainment and comfort can be individually added online via the "My Audi" app. They can be booked for one month, six months, one year, three years or permanently, depending on individual requirements. If, for example, an extensive vacation trip is planned with the A3 or A3 Allstreet, navigation and adaptive cruise assist are useful additions, Audi cites one example.

In Europe, the A3 is initially available with two drive variants: the 1.5-liter 35 TFSI engine with 150 hp (110 kW) and the equally powerful 35 TDI diesel engine, both with seven-speed automatic transmission, whereby the petrol engine is designed as a mild hybrid. Further engine versions are planned for the saloon and Sportback, including a plug-in hybrid at the end of the year. The Sportback 35 TFSI S-Tronic is available from 35,650 euros. The saloon costs an additional 800 euros, while the Allstreet starts at 37,450 euros. (aum)
