VW ID 7 Tourer GTX: With power, punch and charging performance

GTI becomes GTX: Volkswagen wants to establish a sporty series for its electric model ranges. Similar to the iconic combustion engines with a sportier look, more dynamic chassis trim and a little more power - although the latter does not play a major role in electric cars, as the vast majority of electric cars are overpowered anyway. Battery size, range and charging capacity are more important. After all, what's the point of having the most power if you end up having to pay for it with idle time at the charging station?

The revised ID 4 GTX and ID 5 GTX SUVs kicked off the cross-model GTX parade in fall 2023. Now the ID 7 Sedan GTX and Tourer GTX as well as the ID 3 GTX are taking off. Even an ID.Buzz GTX is set to follow later. While the new top model of the ID 3 series with a choice of two power levels always transmits 210 kW (286 hp) or even 240 kW (326 hp) to the rear axle in the Performance version, VW is celebrating the ID 7 GTX Tourer as the "most powerful of all Volkswagen estate cars ever built" with all-wheel drive.
