VW Group intensifies cooperation with Mobileye

The Volkswagen Group is intensifying its collaboration with Mobileye in order to bring new automated driving functions into series production. The Group brands Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche intend to use the Super Vision and Chauffeur platforms in future. These include advanced assistance systems for highway and urban traffic, including autonomous overtaking in permitted areas of multi-lane roads, automatic stopping at red lights and stop signs, as well as assistance at junctions and traffic circles. In addition, Mobileye is to supply further technology components for autonomous driving for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

In the long term, the VW Group is focusing on its own complete system: the partnerships with Bosch and Qualcomm and with Horizon Robotics in China will also be continued. All driver assistance systems are based on the software architectures developed by the Volkswagen subsidiary Cariad. (aum)
