Defender cuts himself a diamond

Land Rover's sub-brand is developing a limited high-performance model. The Defender Octa is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine and is set to become the brand's most powerful vehicle to date. The chassis will feature pitch and roll control to minimize body movement. The Octa is designed as a mild hybrid.

With the type designation, Defender refers to the octahedron shape of a diamond as one of the hardest substances that occur naturally on earth. At the same time, the precious stones are rare. The new top model is characterized by the newly developed diamond graphic framed by a circle. It can be seen on various details of the bodywork and interior, including a shiny black diamond on a milled and sandblasted titanium disk on the panels of the signature graphic. Titanium was chosen here primarily for its robustness. (aum)
