Xpeng comes with two models in May

Xpeng, another Chinese manufacturer of electric cars, is launching on the German market in May. The P7 and the G9 SUV will be offered initially. They are intended to impress not least with their full equipment.

The 4.90 meter long P7 has a battery capacity of 86.2 kWh and a charging capacity of up to 175 kW, so that the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in around 25 minutes. There are three versions with engine outputs of 203 kW (276 hp) and 348 kW (473 hp) as well as rear or all-wheel drive. The top Performance Wing Edition model has gullwing doors as a special feature. The standard range of the P7 is between 505 and 576 kilometers and the price list starts at 49,600 euros.

The Xpeng G9 is available with two different battery sizes and outputs between 230 kW (312 PS) and 405 kW (550 PS). The top-of-the-range AWD Performance model should be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under four seconds. Thanks to a maximum charging capacity of 300 kW and 800-volt technology, standard charging from 20 to 80 percent of the battery capacity should only take a quarter of an hour. Depending on the version, the G9 has a WLPT range of 460 to 570 kilometers. The basic RWD Standard Range version costs 57,600 euros.

With the market launch in Germany, there will be a Launch Edition for the flagship G9. In the already fully equipped model, the premium package, which is the only configurable option and is worth just under 4000 euros, is included with every new car order until June 30. It includes the Dynaudio Xopera 5D virtual reality multimedia system, front and rear massage seats, loudspeakers in the driver's seat and Nappa leather upholstery.

"At the sales launch in May, Xpeng will be represented by twelve dealers at 24 locations. By the end of the year, there will be twice as many and by 2026, there will be around 60 dealers with 120 locations," announces Markus Schrick, Managing Director for Germany. There is a seven-year warranty on the vehicles and the usual eight years on the battery. (aum)
