Jozef Kabaň is the new chief designer at MG Motor

Jozef Kabaň will be responsible for the design language of MG models in the future. The former designer for Audi, Skoda, BMW, Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen has been appointed Vice President of SAIC Motor's Global Design Center. The 51-year-old Slovakian is best known for the Skoda Vision C, which paved the way for the Czech brand's current design language in March 2014 and has since been implemented in numerous models. He was also significantly involved in the design of the Bugatti Veyron.

Kabaň began his career as a designer at Volkswagen and then moved to Audi, where he became Head of Exterior Design in 2007. From 2008, he took on a similar role at Skoda and, as the responsible designer, initiated the change in the brand's current design language. In 2017, he moved to BMW, where he became Head of Design at the Rolls-Royce subsidiary in 2019. In January 2020, Kabaň returned to Volkswagen, where he developed the design of the ID. Buzz.

By 2030, MG Motor's parent company, SAIC Motor, plans to launch around 30 new all-electric models of various brands - including numerous MGs such as the new MG3 Hybrid+, which goes on sale at the end of May. (aum)
