Reaching for the stars with new technology

The major Chinese manufacturer BYD (Beyond Your Dreams) promises an "unprecedented level of safety, torsional rigidity, driving dynamics and intelligence" for its "Seal" model. The all-electric sports sedan of the upper class (D-segment) enters new technological territory with the e-Platform 3.0, the cell-to-body technology and the 8-in-1 powertrain. The specially developed, cobalt-free blade battery offers greater durability and performance in a more compact package.

The Seal is offered in two versions with a range (according to WLTP) up to 570 km, a standard charging power (AC) of eleven kW and a DC charging power of 150 kW. The comfortable and spacious interior is packed with technology and high-quality materials for a refined finish. Deliveries of the BYD Seal will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023, pricing is not yet known. (aum)
