Jaguar has supported the opening of one of the largest electric vehicle charging stations in Europe, located near several of the company's manufacturing and office sites in England.
Opened by UK Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, the center includes 180 charging points, including 16 300-kW DC fast chargers for 30 charging bays and 150 7-kW AC charging points. The facility is powered by renewable energy sources, including a roof-mounted solar array.
In August, a fleet of 32 Jaguar I-Pace cars were deployed simultaneously at the facility to test the infrastructure in terms of power distribution, fast charging and vehicle connectivity. (aum)
