Alexander Buckan is responsible for motorcycle design

Alexander Buckan will become Head of Design at BMW Motorrad on January 1, 2024. After eleven years, he replaces Edgar Heinrich, who had been with the company since 1985 and is now retiring.

Alexander Buckan began his career at BMW Motorrad in 2003 as Transportation Designer. Since then, he has been responsible for various models, including the BMW F 800 GS, the BMW G 450 X, the BMW R 1200 GS LC and the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure LC. In April 2015, he was promoted to Head of BMW Motorrad Vehicle Design and, together with Edgar Heinrich, was involved in the design of the Vision Next 100 as well as the design of the CE 04 and CE 02 e-scooters and the new R 1300 GS.
