Nobody knows what the motorcycle world would look like today if Honda had not presented the CB 750 Four in Las Vegas in January 1969. Not only did it offer a level of performance that was previously unthinkable, but it also gave the market, which had almost slipped into insignificance, an unimagined boost. The work of the century also heralded the triumphal march of the four major Japanese manufacturers in Europe. For Louis, too, the company's history would certainly have been different without the CB 750 Four.
The german motorcycle accessories multinational is therefore celebrating the upcoming 55th birthday of the two-wheeled legend with an exclusive model kit. For 89.95 euros, the famous Honda is available on a scale of 1:24, complete with sound generator and loudspeaker in the base. The model kit was developed by the experts at Franzis. There is also a 67-page accompanying book with many photos and background information on development, technology and model history.
The CB 750 was the first mass-produced motorcycle with four cylinders and hydraulic disc brakes. It was not only fast and powerful, but above all reliable. Mileages of over 100,000 kilometers were not uncommon. And this at a time when most motorcycle engines were due for a complete overhaul after 30,000 to 40,000 kilometers. The engine was far ahead of its time - in contrast to the chassis, which in turn inspired many frame builders and tuners. (aum)
