Geneva 2024: The R 5 returns under tension

Renault has ambitious plans for the electric age and has created the Ampere division specifically for this purpose. The R 5 E-Tech Electric will be launched in the fall of next year and will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show (26.2.-5.3.2024) at the end of February. The vehicle is 3.92 meters long and has a WLTP range of up to 400 kilometers with its 52 kWh battery. A smaller battery with 40 kilowatt hours will also be available at a later date. In the upper part of the hood, a charging indicator light replaces the air intake of the historic model. It lights up as the number "5" when the vehicle is fully charged.

The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, which pays homage to its predecessor from 1972, is designed for bidirectional charging. It is the first vehicle to be built on the new AmpR Small platform (formerly CMF-B EV). The virtual companion "Reno" is also on board. The entry-level price is expected to be around 25,000 euros. With the "R5 R Pass", the new model can be ordered from today, ten days before the official order launch. It costs 150 euros and is available at www.renault.de/R5 and also includes access to content and events relating to the new R 5. (aum)
