Suzuki's latest coup

For a long time, the BMW S 1000 XR rode alone as a crossover bike. Now it has company: Suzuki crowns its firework display of new models with the GSX-S 1000 GX. Visually, it presents itself half as a sports tourer, half as an adventure bike. In terms of performance, it is primarily a sports bike; in terms of comfort and riding position, it is close to a touring enduro.

The four-cylinder engine with 152 hp and a maximum of 106 Newton meters of torque provides plenty of propulsion. 70 percent of the maximum torque is already available from 3000 rpm. The rider sits relaxed behind the windshield, which unfortunately can only be adjusted in height using a tool, and feels little to no pressure on the chest.

The GX is the first Suzuki to feature a Bosch six-axle sensor measuring unit and semi-active suspension. Handling, suspension comfort and stability, even at high speeds, are convincing across the board. The 232 kilogram weight is only noticeable when maneuvering. The successful coordination between the front and rear brakes ensures precise anchoring.

The base price is 17,400 euros. (aum)
