4.1 million cars were built in Germany

Last year, 4.1 million passenger cars were built in Germany. This is 18% more than in 2022, but 12% less than in the pre-pandemic year of 2019. According to the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), exports rose by around 17% to 3.1 million vehicles. In 2019, exports amounted to 3.5 million cars.

Domestic orders fell by 18% compared to the previous year, while orders from abroad fell by 3%. Overall, five percent fewer orders were registered. (aum)
