Now it's time for the showpiece: after the all-electric saloon, Volkswagen is now adding an estate to the ID 7 model series. Although these have actually always been called Variant in Wolfsburg. However, in the electric era - and probably also to distinguish it from its combustion-powered counterpart, the Passat, which is being launched at the same time - the body shape, which is highly regarded in this country, has been given the nickname "Tourer". In view of the many models on the market with a similar suffix (Sport Tourer, Sports Tourer, Space Tourer, Grand Tour, Touring), this may not seem very original, but it is understandable. (aum)
