Mercedes employees in Germany receive up to 7300 euros bonus

Mercedes-Benz emerges from the past financial year with a solid financial result. Group sales rose slightly to €153.2 billion (2022: €150.0 billion), while earnings before interest and taxes (adjusted EBIT) amounted to around €20 billion and were therefore slightly below the previous year (2022: €20.5 billion). At € 11.3 billion, the company achieved a 39% increase in the free cash flow of the industrial business (2022: € 8.1 billion). The adjusted return on sales (RoS) at Mercedes-Benz Cars was 12.6% (2022: 14.6%).

Sales of Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans rose by 1.5% overall to 2,491,800 vehicles, with sales of BEV passenger cars increasing by 61% to 240,700 units (2022: 149,200) and sales of electric vans by 51% to 22,700 units (2022: 15,000).

Based on preliminary results for the 2023 financial year, the approximately 91,000 eligible employees in Germany are expected to receive a profit share of up to 7300 euros.

For 2024, the Stuttgart-based company expects Group sales to remain at the previous year's level. EBIT is expected to be slightly below the previous year's level. The same is expected for the free cash flow of the industrial business due to higher investments in passenger cars and vans. (aum)
