Geneva 2024: Dacia with three premieres at the Geneva Motor Show

Dacia is one of the few car manufacturers to be represented at the Geneva Motor Show next week. On a 900 square meter stand in Hall 4, the Romanian Renault subsidiary is presenting the new editions of the Duster compact SUV and its Spring electric mini, as well as the recently unveiled Sandrider racing car for the Dakar Rally.

The third generation of the Dacia Duster is officially presented to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. Since its debut in 2010, the SUV has sold over 2.4 million units worldwide. The third generation on the new, variable CMF-B platform is again available as a 4x2 and 4x4 variant and represents the best price-performance ratio in its class from 18,950 euros.

The new Dacia Spring now also takes up the design of the other models. With an exterior length of 3.70 meters, it remains very compact, but still has a 308-litre trunk. New features include a customizable 7-inch driver's display and an optional 10-inch multimedia screen in the center of the dashboard. It is now also capable of bidirectional charging. A 45 hp and 65 hp electric motor are still used for the drive. The new model is also set to be the electric car with the best price-performance ratio in Europe in three different trim levels.

In the Dakar Rally, the toughest desert race in the world, Dacia also wants to demonstrate its expertise under the most difficult conditions with the Sandrider from 2025. To this end, the design of the exterior and interior was influenced from the outset by direct feedback from the racing drivers and co-drivers. One of them, nine-time world rally champion Sébastien Loeb, will be visiting the Dacia stand on the opening day of the show. (aum)
