Dacia makes models EU-safe

Dacia is adapting its model range to the new EU safety regulations. In addition, there will be further product upgrades and changes for the Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Jogger in model year 2024.

As part of the GSR II (General Safety Regulation II) safety directive that will apply in the EU from July 2024, Dacia is introducing new safety equipment for all model series in the current model year. In addition to lane departure warning and drowsiness warning systems, rear parking assistance, automatic light and rain sensors and an active emergency brake assistant with pedestrian and bicycle detection, this also includes an event-related data memory ("black box" for accident analysis) and a device for the alcohol immobilizer. A "My Safety" button on the dashboard allows the driver to deactivate certain assistance systems while driving and every time the vehicle is started.

The Romanian Renault subsidiary is also taking the opportunity to make a number of improvements. For example, the new top-of-the-range "Journey" trim level for the Sandero includes a black shark antenna, gloss-turned 16-inch alloy wheels, front door sill trims and other comfort features such as front parking assistance, reversing camera, automatic climate control, modular trunk floor and a keyless keycard as standard. There is now a USB-C port on the dashboard for everyone and, in conjunction with the raised center console, also in the rear. Manual air conditioning and a depth-adjustable steering wheel are now on board the Jogger from the "Essential" version upwards.

Two-tone designer steel wheels and alloy wheels are new for the Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Jogger. Safari beige is the exclusive color for the Sandero Stepway to emphasize the model's outdoor character. The two paint finishes Dolomite Grey, previously reserved for the Jogger, and Cedar Green are now also available for the Sandero.

The Jogger Hybrid 140 is also equipped with the seven-inch screen from the new Duster and an E-Save function for the drive. This allows a target charge level to be set for the battery in order to have enough stored energy for a brisk uphill drive, for example. The system can be activated and deactivated manually and is initially switched off each time the engine is restarted. (aum)
