Fiat ups the pace
Fiat has announced a new model for every year until 2027. The relatively high number of models will be achieved through a high degree of component homogeneity. In July, the new Panda will be presented first, which will also serve as the basis for five concept vehicles that Fiat will present virtually in a video on the Internet at the start of the Geneva Motor Show.
The city car is slightly larger than the current Panda and, both inside and out, takes up formal structures from the former Fiat plant in the Turin suburb of Lingotto, on whose roof there used to be an oval test track. The second study is a compact pick-up. The current Strada plays a key role for the brand, particularly in South America, where it is the market leader in its segment. With the Fastback in Brazil and the Tipo in the Middle East/Africa region, the company has also successfully placed two notchback saloons on international markets. The third concept vehicle follows on from these, and Fiat can well imagine a series version for Europe. And, of course, a family-friendly SUV is not to be missed. The fifth study shows a leisure vehicle called Camper in a van-like off-road vehicle style, but small enough for the urban environment. (aum)
