Triumph and guitar fetched 20,000 dollars

A T 120 Bonneville designed by US artist J. Daar and provided by Triumph, as well as a matching Gibson guitar, have been auctioned in America for 20,000 dollars (equivalent to around 18,430 euros). The money will go to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. The foundation will use the money for charitable causes that were close to the legendary musician's heart during his lifetime.

The motorcycle being auctioned is based on the design of the original machines that Elvis Presley bought for himself and his friends in 1965 and on the Bonneville Desert Sled that the "King" rode in the 1968 film "Stay Away, Joe". The artist's choice of colors in red, silver and gold was mainly inspired by the look of the artist's famous comeback special TV show in December 1968. The musician used a Gibson Les Paul for rehearsals, which Presley then gave to his cook. J Daar designed a corresponding example in the style of the Triumph for the auction. (aum)
