Mercedes-Benz EQS: The star is back
Mercedes has revised its electric flagship EQS. The electric saloon comes with up to 82 kilometers more range, a new radiator grille with chrome applications and a standing Mercedes star on the hood as well as even more comfort in the rear.
Thanks to an increase in battery capacity from 108.4 to 118 kWh, the maximum range of the EQS 450 4MATIC, for example, will increase from 717 to 799 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. On paper, the EQS 450+ even cracks the 800-kilometer mark with a WLTP range of 683-822 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz has also increased the towing capacity for the EQS and EQE saloons with 4MATIC from 750 to 1700 kilograms, which means that a horse trailer, for example, can now also be towed.
Visually, the deep black radiator grille, which is seamlessly connected to the headlights, is now adorned with chrome-plated and flush-mounted louvres as standard in the Electric Art Line. Above this, the star is now back on the hood. The optional Rear Comfort Plus package with executive seats (3867.50 euros) allows the front passenger seat to be folded forward, the backrest in the rear to be adjusted up to 38 degrees and the neck and shoulders to be heated.
The new EQS can be ordered from April 25. Despite the upgraded standard equipment, the base prices are to remain unchanged. (aum)
