Skoda is upgrading its Enyaq model family for the 2024 model year. In addition to dropping the abbreviation 'iV' from the model designation, the electric SUV is now also available for the first time in the lavishly equipped Laurin & Klement version. This includes LED matrix headlights and LED tail lights with animated indicators as well as a chrome radiator grille with 131 LEDs. The interior features electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats with memory and massage function. An embroidered L&K logo is emblazoned on the front headrests.
The technical upgrades of the Enyaq in model year 2024 also include more powerful drives, shorter battery charging times and longer ranges. The Enyaq 85 and 85x model versions will replace the previous 80 and 80x versions. Just like the sporty RS models with increased performance thanks to the new drivetrain with permanently excited synchronous motor on the rear axle, which enables a top speed of 180 km/h. Compared to the previous model, the Enyaq 85 has increased by 60 kW to 210 kW, while the all-wheel drive version Enyaq 85x also provides 210 kW, 15 kW more than its predecessor. The Enyaq RS now offers 250 kW peak power, an increase of 30 kW.
Thanks to further developed thermal management, the high-voltage batteries should also enable ranges of more than 560 kilometers for the Enyaq 85 and more than 570 kilometers for the Enyaq Coupé 85. The entry-level version Enyaq 60 remains technically unchanged. The batteries of the all-wheel drive and RS versions can also be charged at corresponding DC fast-charging stations with up to 175 kW. Skoda promises that this will fill the 82 kWh battery (77 kWh net capacity) from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes under optimum conditions, eight minutes faster than before. The rear-wheel drive Enyaq 85 variants continue to charge with a maximum of 135 kW. In addition, new vehicle software now also supports preconditioning of the battery. (aum)
