Skoda Enyaq gets more power and range

Skoda has revised the Enyaq series. Optimized battery management and an increase in the output of the further developed rear engine ensure shorter charging times and more dynamics. The top speed is now only limited at 180 km/h in all models (previously only in the RS). In addition, all Enyaq 85, 85x and RS variants produced from November 2023 will receive software version 4.0 including a new infotainment concept. The additional designation iV will be dropped with immediate effect.

The designation, which has been changed to the number 85, indicates the increase in performance compared with the previous Enyaq 80. The range in the WLTP cycle increases to up to 563 kilometers or 573 kilometers (coupe). Ideally, the battery charges from ten to 80 percent in 28 minutes. Charging takes place at up to 135 kW. The electric motor on the rear axle now delivers a peak output of 210 kW (285 hp), 60 kW (82 hp) more than before. The Enyaq 85 sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, two seconds faster than before.

The all-wheel-drive variant Enyaq 85x also benefits from the 210 kW drive (plus 15 kW) and accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. Its charging power is up to 175 kW. In the future, the Eynaq RS will offer an engine output of 250 kW (340 hp) and will hit 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. It also takes eight minutes less than before to recharge the battery from ten to 80 percent.

The new battery preconditioning function brings the energy storage unit to an optimum temperature before charging, which improves charging performance even in cold weather. Preconditioning starts automatically when the driver has entered the route to a fast-charging station in the navigation system. It can also be started manually via the control panel in the infotainment display. In addition to the improved voice assistant, the Skoda Enyaq also gets newly arranged control buttons. In addition, the top "L & K" trim with exclusive exterior and interior details is now also available for the electric series.

The price list for the Enyaq 85 starts at 48,900 euros, while the base variant Enyaq 60 with 132 kW (180 hp) remains in the range and is offered for 44,200 euros. The L-&-K models start at 61,250 euros. (aum)
