The Polestar 4 electric SUV coupe is to be the first production vehicle to be equipped with Mobileye's autonomous chauffeur-driving technology. The technology, which aims to enable autonomous driving without eye contact on highways as well as automated driving with eye contact off them, may also be used in future vehicles from the Swedish Geely subsidiary.
Mobileye makes what it calls Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology, which is already installed in more than 150 million cars worldwide. The Polestar 4, which goes on sale today in China and globally in 2024, is currently still equipped with a Mobileye Super Vision-based ADAS. The chauffeur system is slated for a later date. (aum)
