Personnel change in Mercedes-Benz Communications

Rob Halloway (48) will assume responsibility for global product, technology and brand communications at Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans from September 2023. This includes the passenger car brands Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-AMG as well as Mercedes-Benz Vans. He succeeds Katja Bott, who will then serve as CEO of the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC) Maastricht N.V..

Briton Rob Halloway has almost 20 years of PR experience at Renault, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz, most recently as Communications and Events Director at Mercedes-Benz UK. In his current position as Marketing Director Mercedes-Benz Cars in the UK, he is responsible for all Mercedes-Benz marketing assets and campaigns throughout the European region, in addition to the brand experience Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, UK.

Willem Spelten (44) will take over as Head of Corporate Communications as of November 1, 2023. The department comprises the global internal and external corporate communications of Mercedes-Benz Group AG with the subject areas Finance, Production, Sales, Human Resources, Integrity and Legal, External Affairs and Strategy Communications as well as the function of Group Spokesperson. Willem Spelten succeeds Tobias Just, who will take over a management function in Mercedes-Benz Sales from November 2023 after a joint familiarization phase.

After holding positions in various markets and all sales levels at Mercedes-Benz, Willem Spelten worked as head of communications at smart and then established brand and lifestyle communications as a new department at Mercedes-Benz. He then assumed responsibility for corporate and product communications at Mitsubishi Fuso in Japan and Bharat Benz in India. Currently, Willem Spelten's responsibilities include sales management and product management for Mercedes-Maybach. (aum)
