Hyundai converts the Staria for wheelchair users

In cooperation with the german specialist Paravan, Hyundai is offering the Staria as a conversion for wheelchair users. The vehicle can be seen for the first time at the Rehacare trade fair in Düsseldorf (13-16.9.). With equipment such as automatically opening electric sliding doors and tailgate, navigation-based adaptive cruise control - which automatically adjusts the speed to the road topography - as well as the Passenger View mode, the van already offers comfort features from the outset that meet the needs of a vehicle suitable for the disabled. Solutions are possible for both handicapped drivers and passengers.

To ensure the necessary headroom, the vehicle floor of the Staria is lowered from the A to the C pillar during the conversion. This creates a barrier-free interior with a height of 1.40 meters, in which there is also room for a row of seats for three people in addition to the wheelchair. The MPV is flexibly adaptable and can be equipped, for example, with a cassette lift and a transfer console from Paravan.

Depending on the extent of the restrictions, further individual adaptations are optionally possible: whether the Space Drive digital driving and steering system with the corresponding input devices, lighter steering, a gas ring or various mechanical hand devices for operating the gas and brake are desired The Hyundai Staria can also be equipped with the Paravan Touch operating unit and with the Paravan voice control system, which can be used to operate not only the primary but also the secondary functions such as indicators, horn, lights or even the electric sun visor. It is also possible to equip the vehicle with the universal Multi-Mote rotary knob on the steering wheel. (aum)
