Lexus will preview its next-generation electric cars with a concept vehicle at this year's Japan Mobility Show (Oct. 26-Nov. 5) The vehicles, expected to be available in 2026, combine a modular body structure with an improved production process and an all-new software platform.
Different solutions for different markets and regions are to take account of individual customer needs in the future, with electromobility being an important pillar. However, the strategy also includes an entry-level model such as the LBX, which is due to arrive at the beginning of next year. At the top end, the LM will rank in the foreseeable future. The abbreviation of the brand's first Vans, which is available as a four- and seven-seater, stands for "Luxury Mover". In addition, a real off-roader has been announced in the form of the GX.
As part of an experience program, customers in Japan can now also test the ROV Concept (Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle): the first Lexus model with a hydrogen engine is a side-by-side vehicle with three cylinders and two seats. (aum)
