Audi also produces CO2-neutral at its main plant

The Audi plant at its headquarters in Ingolstadt, where the new Q6 e-Tron will be built from next year, will also have carbon-neutral production from January 1, 2024. It will then be the third climate-neutral car factory after Brussels and Györ (Hungary). The production facility in Böllinger Höfe has also been operating on a carbon-neutral basis since 2020. The Neckarsulm and San José Chiapa (Mexico) sites are to follow by 2025.

The factory in Ingolstadt has been using only green electricity for eleven years and also produces its own renewable electricity with a 23,000 square meter photovoltaic system. Last year alone, this saved over 35,000 megawatt hours of energy and more than 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide. (aum)
