From 2030, Nissan will only be electric

Nissan will convert its model lineup for Europe completely to electric cars by 20230. This was confirmed at the unveiling of the 20-23 concept car, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the design studio in London's Paddington district. The autonomous driving trial is being tested in real-world conditions at NTCE, Nissan's neighboring European research and development site. The project focuses on roads in residential and rural areas and is supported by the British government.

Nissan has announced 27 new electrified models worldwide in the coming years, 19 of which will be pure electric. Nissan also plans to launch electric vehicles with its own solid-state batteries (ASSB) by fiscal 2028. They are expected to improve efficiency, be quicker to charge and be cheaper.

At Nissan, electric vehicles currently represent 16 percent of total sales in Europe; the share of electrified vehicles is currently 50 percent and is expected to rise to 98 percent in the next three years. (aum)
