Lexus LM: Luxury for two or room for seven

Available as a four- or seven-seater, the Lexus LM was initially launched in Taiwan at the end of 2019. Later, the first van from Toyota's luxury division was available in other countries in the Far East. This year, the second generation followed, which is now also available in European stores and is now powered as a hybrid version 350 h by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine together with two electric motors.

The vehicle is aimed in particular at customers in China and Japan, with the USA left out. The extremely luxurious four-seater is intended primarily for managers as a rolling work and recreation space, and the seven-seater for hotels as a VIP transporter. It could also serve large families as a minibus.

In Europe, both versions are likely to play their role in a rather modest niche, but word from Lexus headquarters in Brussels is that, due to rising demand, the sales plan there has been raised by a third to around 1,000 units for the coming year, with the four- to seven-seater ratio expected to be around 60 to 40. Orders for around 600 units have already been received throughout Europe, including around 100 for Germany alone, and the prices are steep. 122,700 euros are due for the seven-seater and 147,100 euros for the four-seater - at least.
