Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi united in Ampere

Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi have redefined their alliance and are planning further cooperation. The Ampere business unit founded by Renault, which bundles developments in e-mobility and software, plays a central role in this. Nissan has invested 600 million euros and Mitsubishi 200 million euros in Ampere. One of the first results of the collaboration will be the electric Nissan Micra developed by Ampere.

Nissan and Renault are also stepping up their joint projects in South America and India, where the two partners plan to roll out up to eight new models in the coming years. Nissan is also leading the alliance in the development of the solid-state battery, which can be used as an energy storage system in the alliance's vehicles by the end of the decade. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi continues to focus on the acquisition of Renault models in Europe and is planning a collaboration with Nissan in the USA to expand its model range. (aum)
