At Renault, Ampere takes care of electromobility

With the spin-off of Ampere, Renault has created a separate corporate unit for electromobility. The aim is to reduce the list prices for electric vehicles by 40 percent with the help of a cost-cutting roadmap. By 2028 at the latest, Renault's e-cars should be priced at the same level as models with a combustion engine. Ampere plans to produce around one million vehicles per year by 2031. The product range will then comprise seven models in the core segments of the European market. The Scenic E-Tech Electric will be launched at the beginning of next year, while Ampere will start in the B segment next year with the Renault 5 at a starting price of around 25,000 euros. The R 4 and the new Twingo will follow the following year as an electric car for less than 20,000 euros. (aum)
