Arne Joswig: "Trust in the government has been massively damaged"

In an interview with Auto-Medienportal, Arne Joswig, President of the Zentralverband Deutsches Kfz-Gewerbe, criticizes the way in which subsidies for electric vehicles were discontinued last Saturday. "There was no indication beforehand that this would be implemented in this way," he emphasizes. At the same time, Joswig welcomes the willingness of manufacturers and importers to take on the government's share of the subsidy, but it "cannot be that manufacturers and dealers are being put under pressure by the government's unspeakable misconduct".

Joswig estimates that around 60,000 cars have been affected by the deletion. He also believes that "trust in a comprehensible and rational policy by the German government to promote electromobility has been massively damaged". At the same time, the ZDK President doubts that there will be 15 million electric vehicles on the roads by 2030 - as envisaged by the federal government. Walther Wuttke spoke with Arne Joswig. (aum)
