A manufacturer has yet to replicate that: Keeping a car brand alive with a single model that is only offered in its home country. The Lancia Ypsilon was also one of the best-selling vehicles in Italy last year. In 2023, 44,743 buyers opted for the premium small car, another nine percent more than in the previous year. This put the Ypsilon in third place in the country's overall registration statistics. It achieved a market share of 14.9 percent in its segment, the second highest in its history.
With the completely new Ypsilon, the Stellantis Group is launching the relaunch of the brand in Europe in February. Two more models are planned by 2028. (aum)
