Chery will expand its german development center in Raunheim near Frankfurt. This was announced by the manufacturer in the run-up to the market launch of its two models Omoda 5 and Jaecoo 7. Over the past five years, the site has developed into an important research, development, testing and design center for China's largest passenger car exporter. Europa Managing Director Jochen Tüting has announced that the number of employees will double this year to up to 120. Initially, the Omoda 5 is to be launched on the German market in summer as a combustion engine for well under 30,000 euros. There will also be an electric version. This will be followed by the Jaecoo 7 SUV. (aum)
